Attorneys
Alex Dorobantu was born in Bucharest, Romania and moved to Memphis, TN with his family in 1988. Alex attended the University of Tennessee - Knoxville where he obtained his B.A. in Political Science with an English minor. He then went on to the University of South Carolina School of Law where he earned his J.D.
Since graduating law school Alex has worked primarily in the field of estate planning, asset protection and wealth transfer. He spent three years working at a boutique estate planning firm in downtown Charleston before opening Lowcountry Legacy Law Firm in 2015. Alex's goal is to provide clients in and around coastal South Carolina with advanced techniques to preserve and pass on their legacies for future generations.
Alex tries to balance his work life with community and family involvement. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Beaufort Memorial Hospital Foundation, has served as the Assistant Head Coach and the Head Boy's Lacrosse Coach at Beaufort High School from 2016 - 2021, and is a graduate of the 2016-17 class of Leadership Beaufort.
In March 2021 Alex had his article "Estate Planning and Probate 101: A Quick Overview for the Non-Probate, Estates and Trusts Practitioner" published in the SC Lawyer Magazine. He has taught Continuing Legal Education classes through both the South Carolina Bar and National Business Institute. Alex has also presented to residents of the Lowcountry for nearly a decade through seminars in local communities as well as the University of South Carolina - Beaufort's - OLLI Program.

Alex is an Elite member of Certified Guaranty Company and has been a comic book collector for over 25 years. He is happy to use this membership on behalf of clients with high end collectible cards, posters, comics, and magazines while giving them practical advice on how to best leverage these unique assets to provide the maximum benefit to themselves and their beneficiaries.

In his free time Alex enjoys boating, trying to improve his golf game and spending time with his wife and three daughters.

Ryan Trask was born in Medford, Oregon and moved to South Carolina in 2025. Ryan attended Chapman University where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and a B.A. in Political Science. He then went on to the University of Oregon School of Law where he earned his J.D. with a concentration in Entrepreneurship Law.

Ryan gained valuable experience while in law school through study abroad programs in Vienna, London, and Berlin. Additionally, he worked as a Summer Law Clerk at an estate planning firm in Oregon and was a member of the Business Law Clinic.
​
Outside of the office, Ryan enjoys staying active, including running marathons. He is an avid football fan who cheers on the Oregon Ducks and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
